Construction, electrical engineering students earn second place at state competition

Michael Meyer, Adam Mueller, and Austin Scott, the OTHS “Team Works” group, placed 2nd at the Skills USA State Conference in Springfield last week.

The “Team Works” competition requires a group of four students to build a construction project over two days. During the “construction project”, competitors demonstrate their ability to work together as a team by using their carpentry, electrical, plumbing and masonry skills.

The guys did a great job working together and choosing tasks that match their technical abilities. While all the of them framed their project together, Michael Meyer took charge of the brick masonry stage of the project. Adam Mueller and Austin Scott both played integral roles in the electrical wiring and plumbing components of the competition.

The students are enrolled in Mr. Vosse’s construction and electrical engineering classes.
